Do you have a song that makes you think about a man in your life?
A song that whenever you hear it you think about how much you love or loved him? Humans are hard wired to respond to music. Studies show that music may someday help patients heal from diseases and/or a stroke. If music can help you heal from diseases and/or stroke, don’t you think it can help us heal from our less than perfect self-esteem and build our love for ourselves? I don’t know about you, but when I listen to certain songs my entire mood changes. If it is an upbeat song, it can cause me to run faster on the treadmill, if it is a love song it can cause me to fantasize about my man and think about how much I love him, if it is a sad song, it can make me cry. Well, what about if it is a song that makes me think about how awesome I am? What if I listen to that song often? Could I possibly learn to think I am awesome or love myself more? Well, that is exactly what I did, and it worked.
When I started building my love for myself one step at a time, I created a playlist of songs that reminded me how awesome I am or encouraged me to choose myself. They really helped to pull me through, and I am hoping they will do the same for you. Remember we are all unique and what songs moved me may not move you. Give yourself permission to create your own journey and discover your own playlist.
